Essential Bag Challenge
Homeless Shelter Donation
Gather Supplies
For this challenge we asked the community for donations.
We also included a link to specific items that could be purchased from Amazon that was shipped to Dragonfly Wings.

Organize and Sort
As your donations come in, start sorting into your bags/boxes you have set up.
Any donations you may get that are not part of the essential bags still accept but donate separately either to the shelter or another organization. We received some full-size toiletry items that were donated as part of our ask. We donated those items as well separately from the bags.
Assemble Bags
These are the items that get placed in a sandwich size bags.
1 wash cloth, deodorant, razor, shaving cream, soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush, tooth paste, dental floss, sunscreen, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, nail clippers, comb.
2 crystal lights, hair ties
3 coffee sticks and hand wipes
5 bandages

Distribute to shelter
Set up a day/time to give to shelters. Our bags were given to the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas.
Our bags will be distributed by their outreach team. They will take to homeless camps and underpasses to give to those in need.
YOUR TURN TO PAY IT FORWARD
Using the instructions provided we encourage you to complete the project either on your own or as group. This project makes a great team building project.
