Create a flyer

Encourage the public to participate.

Create your own flyer making sure to remember to add your contact information, deadline date and drop off info.

Below is our Book Drive flyer if you would like to use for your drive.

Ask your neighboors/community

Get the information out to the community. Talk with a business to see if they will let you have a box for the public to drop off their books. Or post on your HOA or social media encouraging your neighboors and friends to drop off on your porch. 

Tip: Large Storage bin with a lid and a flyer on top works great as a collection. The books are protected from the weather.​​

Collect and Sort

As you are collecting we encourage you to sort by type. Here are the categories that we found best based on the recipients:

Self-help, Religious, Novels, Political/History, Art, cooking, health/exercise, gardening, sports. You will receive a lot of kids books for those we broke down into these additional categories: Baby, preschool, elementary.

Don't forget to count the # of books collected so you can share with your community their impact. ​

Distribute to those in need

Here are some suggestions of whom could benefit from your collection.

Correctional Facilities & Homeless shelters - Self-help, religious and novels.

Schools - Elementary 

Day cares - Baby & Preschool

Food banks - A mixture of all the categories.

Little Free Libraries are a great recipient also, you can check their website for locations in your area.
